Located in Halifax, the capital city of the Province of Nova Scotia, we are the Bluenose Section of the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America, a not-for-profit professional organization dedicated to all aspects of the Art and Science of illumination.
Metropolitan Halifax is home to about 343,000 people, and is located on the southeastern coast of Nova Scotia. The population is concentrated around Halifax Harbour, a sheltered inlet penetrating nine kilometers inland from the Atlantic coast. It is the world's second largest natural harbor and remains open through the winter months when ice normally closes most other eastern Canadian seaports. |
